Utah Jazz!!!

Deana, Dylan and I got the chance to go to a Jazz signing last week. It was a lot of fun! Justin was at work, so he didn't get to join us (which mom really missed him! ;) Next year though! Deana had the most fun, and got the chance to meet Boozer (who knew she liked him so much!) Dylan got a little bored, but was very cute when he would ask the players to sign his basketball.

Close up..

There is nothing more precious than a close up of a child. These ones of Dylan I took over the summer and just adore them. His soft skin, and cute freckles, and those big blue eyes make him look like an angel: Our Angel! I just wanted to show off, up close and personal, what a sweet little guy we have.

Dylan's First Stitches....

Well, it took until 3 years of age, but he finally got his first stitches! We were up camping and he hit his head while riding the 4-wheeler. His mom felt really bad, and it scared everyone! Dylan, on the other hand was very brave and tough! He cried for about 5 min, and then hardly cried when he got 6 stitches (3 inner, it was pretty deep). He's such a tough man! I hope as his mom I have it in me to be as tough when his next accident occurs.........

All Dressed Up!!

We went to a wedding the other day, so I made everyone get together for a picture. It's not very often you see me in a skirt! Anyway, it came out very cute, what a good lookin' bunch.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th! We had a great day. We went to breakfast and enjoyed the Parade. The water fight was again so much fun the kids are already plotting next years revenge! As you can see our before and after pictures, we were all drenched. Dylan loved the fire truck and all the candy him and his mom collected. We had a great evening of good food and family.

A Newborn's Conversation With God

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.

'The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.''

And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

''Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.

''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

Tessa's Home!

We just want to say how lucky we are to have Tessa back in our home. She moved away for a couple years, but is now back, and she is stuck with us, forever!!! Dylan is thrilled to have his oldest sister back to play with. Even though she's a teenager (scary times :) She is very loving and playful with him. Of course, Deana is still a favorite of Dylan's (sorry Tessa!) and loves to still pick on her to no end! We now have a full house, with lots going on. We love that Tessa decided the best place for her to be was right here, with us-welcome home hon.

Captian Dylan

Dylan got the chance to ride in his grandpa Alan's airplane today, and was in complete bliss! A boy after his father's heart. He did very good and was well behaved. He loved that he could talk to us through the headset and enjoyed the view.

Dylan is THREE!

Wow, our baby boy is three years old now! I can't seem to find where the time is going! He had a great birthday weekend. He had Thomas the Train everything, even a pinata on Saturday night with his friends. Mom went a little over board this year, but that's OK! It was so exciting for him, and there is nothing better in life then to see your sweet boy thrilled because it's his birthday. Pa (grandpa Smith) came just to celebrate and Dylan was so happy to spend time with him, and Pa was too. Sunday morning after breakfast we all went bowling, it was Dylan's first time, and loved it. He was pretty good too, won his mom on the second game! Got a few spares too (with the help of bumpers and a guide!!!!) We then went and celebrated at Grandma Halverson's, she made his special request of spaghetti for dinner and yummy chocolate cup cakes. All in all he had a wonderful birthday with lots of people who love him to death! He got everything he wanted and then some, and is already talking about his next birthday. I have to admit I must be very lucky or blessed to have such a easy going, fun loving little child. The love that little boy has is breathtaking, and I wish everyone was more like him. Happy Birthday Boo.

2.How long did you date? 3 years
3.Who eats more sweets? Well I eat them more often, he tends to eat bigger portions!

6.Who is taller? He is-and I love it
7.Who is smarter? I don't want to admit it, but he is!

17.Who asked who out? He did, he made it sound like a group was going, but it ended up being just the two of us.

Another Year Older

Once again I had a birthday. Boy each year goes by faster and faster. I had a great day though, and 28 feels the same as 27. My husband let me sleep in, cleaned house, made dinner and cake of my choice-I'm so lucky! I got my first pair of crocs, a designer handbag, and lots of clothes, and beautiful flowers. I am so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. Next celebration will be for Dylan's big 3 birthday, wow, where did my baby go??

Playing Piano

Right before Christmas, Deana and I had our first piano recital. Yes, I have started up piano again, and love it. This is Deana's first at learning, and seems to be a natural. I played for about a year and a half back when I was Deana's age, and am amazed at how much I learned and remembered! We had a big snow storm the night of the recital, so the crowd was small-which was good! Deana did EXCELLENT and played both of her songs like a pro, she is obviously good under pressure, unlike me! I know we are our own worse critic, but I was shaking like a leaf and screwed up both of my songs. I did manage to get through both of them, and keep going even after my mess up, so I guess I did OK. All in all it was fun, but I'm glad it's over, and am already dreading the next one! Justin was mad he had to work that night, but Dylan was right there to support us with his cheesey grin!

Merry Christmas!

Wow, Christmas has come and gone! I'm still amazed at how fast time goes by. It was a great Christmas at the Melchior household! The kids must have been very good this year, because boy did they get spoiled! Dylan was so excited about his train table, he didn't know what to do at first. The train Pa got for us to go around the tree was fun, even though Dylan would not let you touch it. Christmas day was busy with family and good food. The day after Christmas we headed to Washington to see my family. We flew into Portland and got a mini van (yes it was nice, but I still will never own one!) and drove up to Shelton to see my Grandpa Rice. He claims the last time I was up there was when I cut my foot, been a while huh Dodi?? We then took a ferry ride over to Seattle and stayed. The city was beautiful and it didn't rain much, and Justin was in heaven when we went to the Museum of Flight. We then drove back to Battle Ground and hung out with my mom and sisters. After that we headed back to the snow and cold of Salt Lake City, and of course the train table that was missed dearly! I wish I could say that we have great pictures of our trip, with my cool new camera, but I was smart enough to charge the battery and leave it at home. Oh well, the memories are still there! Our New Year was far from exciting, we returned home on the 31st, so our beds were more important then 2008. We were asleep by 10, man are we old!
